Kultura is a companion app for baking sourdough bread. This policy is short and honest, because the app is designed to collect as little data as possible.
At a glance
- The app is fully usable without an account — then all data stays on your device only, and we never see it.
- An account is optional. Its only purpose is syncing your data between devices.
- Photos never leave your device.
- No ads. No tracking. No third-party analytics. Your data is never sold or shared with anyone.
What data we process
Without an account — none. Your starters, recipes, bakes, journal and settings are stored locally on the device and disappear when you delete the app.
With an account (which you create voluntarily):

What we deliberately do not collect: photos (they stay on the device), location, contacts, advertising identifiers, usage analytics, or data from other apps.
Notifications
Kultura sends only local reminders (feed your starter, the next baking step). They are scheduled on the device itself and never pass through our servers. You can change the permission in system settings at any time.
Where data lives and how it is protected
Account data is stored on the Kultura server (Render.com, Frankfurt, EU). Data in transit between the app and the server is protected with HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted.
How long we keep data
For as long as your account exists. Deleting the account in the app removes all data linked to it from the server immediately; a deletion requested by email happens within 30 days.
Your rights
- Use the app without an account at all.
- Request a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it — just write to us.
- Delete your account together with all its data — right in the app: the Account screen («Обліковий запис») → “Delete account” («Видалити обліковий запис»); server data is removed immediately. Or write to us from the email address the account is registered to, and we will delete everything within 30 days.
- Revoke the notification permission in system settings.
Data on the device itself is under your direct control: deleting the app deletes it.
Children
Kultura is a general-audience app with no age-restricted content (rated 4+). We do not knowingly collect children's data; creating an account assumes you can enter into this agreement yourself.
Changes to this policy
We will announce material changes in the app or on this page. The effective date of the current version is at the top of this document.
